Minutes:

RESOLVED that the minutes of the Awards, Grants and Transport (Appeals) Committee meeting held on 11th October 2016, be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

Exclusion of Public and Press

Minutes:

RESOLVED that the public and press be excluded from the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, as amended, on the grounds that exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12(a) of the Act, was likely to be disclosed.

Applications for Transport Assistance (Exclusion Paragraph 1 - the reports and appendices contain exempt information by virtue of Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, (as amended), information relating to an individual).

Minutes:

The Committee considered appeals for school transport assistance, in relation to Case Numbers 1208, 1209 and 1210.

 

The Committee Members and the appellants had received the agenda and the Hearings Procedure prior to the meeting.

 

The Chair made introductions and outlined the procedure to be followed at the appeal hearing.

 

The Council’s Pupil Support and Passenger Transport Manager was present at the meeting and presented the Council’s case, made representations in respect of the appeals and answered questions from members of the Committee and the Appellants.

 

The Appellants for Case Numbers, 1208, 1209 and 1210 attended the meeting, made representations and answered questions from members of the Committee and the Pupil Support and Passenger Transport Manager.

 

The Pupil Support and Passenger Transport Manager and the appellants were given the opportunity to make a closing statement.

 

All parties were then asked to leave the room whilst the Committee deliberated the appeal and reached a decision.  All parties were informed that they would be notified of the outcome of the Committee’s decision in writing, five working days after the meeting.

 

RESOLVED that:-

 

(1)        having considered all the circumstances, the information set out in the report and the representations and evidence presented at the meeting, Case number 1208, be refused on the grounds that there were no exceptional circumstances;

 

(2)        having considered all the circumstances, the information set out in the report and the representations and evidence presented at the meeting, Case number 1209, be refused on the grounds that there were no exceptional circumstances; and

 

(3)        having considered all the circumstances, the information set out in the report and the representations and evidence presented at the meeting, Case number 1210, be refused on the grounds that there were no exceptional circumstances.
