A MEETING of the CHIEF OFFICERS’ APPOINTMENTS

AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE COMMITTEE was held at the

COUNCIL HOUSE, DONCASTER on FRIDAY 30TH JULY 2010 at 1.45 p.m.

Cynthia Ransome (Substitute for Councillor Bob Ford) and

Councillor Andrea Milner, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Service; Equalities and Cohesion

No declarations were made at the meeting.

EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

 

RESOLVED that the public and press be excluded from the remaining proceedings of the meeting in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, on the grounds that exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, is likely to be disclosed.

 

 

 

 

10.

FINAL INTERVIEWS FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S SERVICE (CHILDREN AND FAMILIES) (EXCLUSION PARAGRAPH 1)

 

 

 

The Chair asked Members to note that Jessica Crowe, in her position as Commissioner, was present to ensure that correct procedures were followed and an appropriate decision made. The Chair explained that Councillor Andrea Milner, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services; Equalities and Cohesion and Chris Pratt, Director of Children and Young Peoples Services, were present to offer advice to inform a decision on the post and also to relay feedback from earlier stakeholder panels.

 

The Committee received a presentation from the candidate and undertook an interview for the post of Assistant Director of Children and Young People’s Service (Children and Families).

 

Following interview, the Chair asked Members to consider all of the views expressed on the candidate, the feedback given from panels and the comments on the context of the post before reaching a decision.

 

Members unanimously agreed to appoint Vicki Lawson to the post.  The Commissioner concurred with the decision reached.

 

 

 

RESOLVED that:-

 

(1)       Vicki Lawson be appointed to the post of Assistant Director, Children and Young People’s Service (Children and Families);

 

(2)       the approval of the appointment by the Commissioner, be noted; and

 

(3)       the Director of Children and Young People’s Service be asked to confirm the appointment and to feedback identified development areas to the candidate.
