Purpose:
The National principles of Healthwatch were
determined by Central Government and require that a third party
management organisation leads the establishment and implementation
of a local Healthwatch to fulfill its statutory duties and
functions as set out in the Health and Social Care Act
2012.
Decision:
(1) To seek approval for the tendering and
awarding of a contract for Doncaster Healthwatch; and
(2) To award the contract for three years with the option to extend
for two 12 month periods (five years).
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Preferred Option - Approved the ODR
and procure the service
Option 2 - Do not approve the procurement of the Healthwatch
service and decommission existing service.
