RE18 0153/BIS40 - Business Investment Incentive Scheme Grant – Pristine Commercial Cleaning

Decision Maker: Director of Regeneration and Environment

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The company currently employs 70FT staff.
The company needs to re-locate and has been looking to move from their existing premises to newer premises with offices and storage that can offer them more space and that will be ‘fit for purpose’ going forward.
The Directors are committed to Doncaster but have looked at other nearby local authority areas as there is current business space available which is reasonably priced and the new posts would be as easy to recruit from Worksop, Rotherham and Sheffield areas where they have looked.
The Directors have been working with the Business Doncaster team who has put forward a Sky Park DSA as an alternative option to moving to Worksop, Rotherham or Sheffield.
They would need to carry out internal renovations which include erecting an internal wall to provide meeting room facilities/ reception area; enlarge the kitchen facilities and install new electric points and alarm system.
The project will create at least another 34 FT jobs and increase the company’s turnover in the next year.
Although this application does not qualify for the Rates rebate part of the grant, this is a new property and will attract new Business rates of approximately £14,000 p.a. (Not yet Rated)

Decision:

To award the following grants to Pristine Commercial Cleaning Services Ltd in relation to the Inward Investment Business Incentive Scheme:-
Job Creation Grant £4,700
Project set up costs of up to £5,000 for refurbishment of new unit including creation offices, internet, electrics, racking and M

Alternative options considered:

A number of options were considered including not offering the company any incentives. However Steering Group members felt that the nature of the investment would be good for Doncaster in supporting an existing business to grow their investment and the creation of additional jobs.
