This is an inward investment enquiry from a UK
e-commerce consumer market company that has worked with small to
large multinational corporations and has developed strong customer
relationships and a reputation for delivering excellence. MH Star
Ltd has been trading for the last 7 years and also leases a 100,000
sq ft unit in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
Their initial plans are to create 20 new jobs including 3
Management posts but they envisage that this site will be a mirror
image of their site in Cambridgeshire that employs 34 staff.
They
consider themselves to be an ethical supplier, good employer and an
environmentally friendly company.
The Company is growing and is looking to lease a 123,811 sqft
vacant unit at Armthorpe as their main distribution centre in the
North which will store products and dispatch orders all over the
UK
To award the following grants to MH Star Ltd
in relation to the Inward Investment Business Incentive
Scheme:-
Job Creation Grant of £8,300
Project set up costs of up to £5,000 for CCTV, Internet/Wi-Fi
devices and fire/intruder alarms.
Renovation Costs up to £10,000 for racking, signage and
access systems.
A number of options were considered including
not offering the company any incentives. However Steering Group
members felt that the nature of the investment would be good for
Doncaster in terms of the new investment.
