It was MOVED and SECONDED that Councillor Ian Pearson be elected as Chair of the Licensing Sub-Committee (for this meeting only).

 

RESOLVED that Councillor Ian Pearson be appointed as Chair of the Licensing Sub-Committee for this meeting only.

The Sub-Committee considered an application for a new premises licence in respect of ‘La Cocos Supermarket’, Unit 1, Danum House, 51-57 St Sepulchre Gate, DN1 1UB.

 

The Sub-Committee Members, the Applicant and the individuals making representations had received the agenda prior to the meeting.  A copy of the representations were attached to the report at Appendix E.

 

At the commencement of the hearing, the Chair welcomed all parties to the meeting, made introductions and outlined the procedure to be followed.

 

The Senior Licensing Practitioner, Hayley Oxley, introduced the report and outlined the salient points in relation to the application.

 

The Applicant, and their representative, were in attendance, and made representations to the Sub-Committee and answered questions asked of them by the Committee.

 

The objectors who had made written representations in respect of the application, were not in attendance at the meeting.

 

The meeting then adjourned to allow the Sub-Committee to deliberate on the application and reached a decision in private.

 

All parties were then invited back in to the meeting to be informed of the Sub-Committee’s decision.

 

RESOLVED that having considered the application for a Premises Licence for La Cocos Supermarket at Unit 1 Danum House, 51-57 St Sepulchre Gate, Doncaster, DN1 1UB and having taken into account the representations made and the evidence presented, the steps that are appropriate to promote the Licensing Objectives, the Home Office Guidance and our Statement of Licensing Policy and have decided to grant the licence in the terms set out in Appendix A-D.

 

The Committee noted that the detailed information provided as part of the Application and has made a unanimous decision that the Applicant has a good understanding and has sufficiently addressed the Licensing Objectives for the licence being granted today. Furthermore, there has been no evidence provided that Applicant would not be able to meet the Licensing Objectives.
