17/03/2017 - AHWB0.15.2017 Capital monies for development of Closed Road Cycle Circuit ref: 1266    Recommendations Approved

Following successful hosting of the Tour de Yorkshire stage finish on 30th April and growth in cycling across the borough. DMBC in partnership with Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust have made application to British Cycling to provide match funds to build a 1 km closed road cycle circuit.

To access further £40k of the remaining £620k of allocated monies to further develop proposal for a £1km closed road cycle circuit. Following initial works to undertake design and cost of circuit procurement of planning consultant and investigatory works have been sourced and will require an additional £40k of the identified Monies to complete works. This will enable full application to be made to enable application for British Cycling.

22/03/2017 - FCS 191 People's Powerhouse Conference ref: 1276    Recommendations Approved

The first People's Powerhouse is a convention for all the people and organisations who deliver inclusive growth in the North. It will bring together practitioners, policy makers, opinion formers, local people and stakeholders to share best practice, debate policy and share whats working to bring about change and innovation to support inclusive and growth in the North.
Doncaster Council has been a driving force behind the convention. The event is being jointly co-ordinated by the Council and Transforms Life Company with the Council, as a corporate body being asked to underwrite the event, deal with the VAT element and be responsible for the ordering of goods and services.

17/03/2017 - FCS 193 - GIS Server Hardware ref: 1275    Recommendations Approved

Server hardware is required to deliver GIS software and applications to user to allow the Council to make better use of its data assets by providing data insights graphical representation utilising maps to highlight location based information. The procurement of four new servers is required to facilitate access to GIS applications by internal users in the Council.

(1) to draw down £20,000 of the £64,000 capital investment identified in the capital programme. The £60,000 allocation was identified for Cloud and Government Strategy in the ICT Strategy which was approved as part of the Capital Programme 2015/16 to 2018/19; and

(2) to procure four servers to deliver GIS software and applications.

The current network firewall devices were procured and implemented in 2006 and are end-of-life September 2018.

(1) To draw down £145,000 of the £140,000 capital allocation identified in the capital programme. The £145,000 allocation was identified for the refresh of the current network firewalls and was approved as part of the Capital Programme 2015/16 to 2018/19 at Full Council on Tuesday 3rd March 2015. The allocation was spread over two financial years, £72,000 in 2016/17 and £73,000 in 2017/18 but after discussions with finance ICT over £300,000 of capital allocations the capital programme finance approved moving the full allocation of £145,000 to 2016/17; and
(2) To procure four Cisco Next Generation Firewalls and associated equipment.

18/03/2017 - RE17 0051 - Approval of continuation of the temporary Head of Service Transport and Production within Trading Services and Assets for a 12 month period ref: 1242    Recommendations Approved

The Appropriate Assets Project, part of the DN17 programme, commenced during 2013/14 in order to rationalise the Council's assets. This change project has an ambitious aim to deliver substantial revenue savings of £5.05m per annum, generate significant capital income and realise a reduction of 60% to 70% of operational building assets.

A decision was taken by Cabinet in June for the Council to procure the services of a fully licensed energy company who could provide the Council with an opportunity to operate a 'white label' partnership.

16/03/2017 - RE17 0025 - Ceasing green waste collections over winter ref: 1142    Recommendations Approved

Doncaster Council Members agreed that green waste collection service would cease over the winter months from December 2016 and approved a budget saving at Full Council in February 2016. the initial options considered were to cease collections for either 3 or 4 months.
