Following a recent decision to reconstitute
the Doncaster East Drainage Board, and reduce the size of the
Board's membership from 25 to 15, Doncaster Council has been asked
to appoint a total of 8 members to the new Board. These
appointments will take effect from 1 November 2019 when the newly
constituted Board comes into operation.
As the Council pays the largest proportion of the Internal Drainage
Board funding based on the area of land, it is essential that the
Council's interests are sufficiently represented through its
appointments to IDBs. Such appointments also ensure that the
Council is involved in any decisions that may affect the people of
the Borough.
