What are town and parish councils?

Parish and town (local) councils in England and community and town (local) councils in Wales are the first tier of local government. There are around 10,000 local councils in England and Wales, made up of nearly 100,000 councillors. They deliver a range of services to meet local needs and improve quality of life and community wellbeing.

Register of members interests

All parish councillors are required to notify the council's monitoring officer of their disclosable pecuniary interests, by completing a declaration of interests form. The Register of Interests is open to inspection by the public and can be accessed through the links below.
