The service is currently carrying 2 vacancies for qualified educational psychologists (EPs), representing a reduction in main grade EP capacity of 38%. We are covering the vacancies through arrangements where managers and assistants are picking up key tasks, which is unsustainable and at the cost of the overall reach and effectiveness of the service in continuing to support for Doncaster's vulnerable young learners in achieving the best possible life outcomes.

At the request of the Schools Forum the Department for Education gave permission to establish a central schools block DSG expenditure budget to focus on two areas:-

The budget is provided to deliver learning environment improvements within schools, academies, PRUs and Learning Centres and it is expected that a 10% contribution will be required towards any project.

It is expected the funding will be allocated over a 3 year period with a review and progression report.

The council and partners have significantly developed our achievements against the delivery of the National Armed Forces Covenant, becoming a leader across the region and nationally. A significant aspect of this success has been due to a dedicated resource to understand and deliver with the Council and in addition facilitate and support wider partnership involvement for a Doncaster holistic approach. The council had future expectations for further development of our work on Armed Forces and Veterans with intention of leading a coordinated Regional event for 2020.

Doncaster Council and CCG commissioned four providers (Age UK, Choices 4 Doncaster, Royal Voluntary Service and Alzheimer's Society) to deliver a Dementia Family Support Service (DFSS) across the four Community Led Support Areas of Doncaster (Central, East, North and South). The contract commenced on 1 July 2017 and will end on 31 March 2019.

Following a service review for the Communication Support for Deaf and Deafened People in Doncaster Service it has been decided to:-

1. To increase the rate paid to freelance interpreters from 1 November 2018 as permitted in the contract terms and conditions for the extension period.

2. Extend the contract for a further 12 months to 31 March 2020 and not re-tender the service for a contract start date of 1 April 2019 as previously agreed in the Cabinet report dated 27 March 2018 - Adult Health and Well-being Commissioning 2018/19

3. Undertake a detailed service review in readiness for the re-procurement of the service.
