02/03/2017 - 2017/3/PH/ StopSmokeServ - Extension of Contract for Doncaster and Rotherham Stop Smoking Service ref: 1298    Recommendations Approved

The option to extend the current contract for 12 months was available within the contract.

The extension of the contract by 12 months enables the service to be tendered during 2017/18 for a new contract start date of 1 April 2018.

This gives more time to consider the preferred model for moving forward.

The Council's current Virtualised Oracle Environment is approaching end of life and a replacement solution compromising of hardware and software is required.

(1) To draw down £20,000 of the £110,000 capital investment
identified in the capital programme. The £110,000 allocation was identified for the refresh of the current Virtualised Oracle Environment and was approved as part of the Capital Programme 2015/16 to 2018/19;

(2) To procure two dell servers to host the Capita One Oracle database; and

(3) To engage with the Councils incumbent Oracle solution provider for one-off professional services to ratify the new oracle environment design.

It was announced in July 2016 that the HS2 alignment in South Yorkshire will change. The new proposed route has resulted in significant impact on some areas of Doncaster.

01/03/2017 - RE17 0022 - Acceptance of funding for the Enterprise Advisor Project ref: 1068    Recommendations Approved

A pilot was undertaken during the 2014/15 academic year to identify gaps in provision, support school action plans; identify good practice and activities already taking place. This pilot worked in conjunction with the existing project Doncaster Skills Academy and aimed to build upon that work extending business interaction and embedding this support as part of senior leadership teams within school.
During 2015/16 the Enterprise Adviser network was established in Sheffield City Region between four partner authorities - Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster.

02/03/2017 - AHWB010-2017 Section 106 funded improvements at Wike Gate Road play area, Thorne, Doncaster ref: 1066    Recommendations Approved

The open space on Wike Gate Road is owned by Doncaster Council but is currently leased to Thorne and Moorends Town Council. The lease commenced on 03.02.2003 and is for a term of 21 years ending 02.02.2024. The Town Council are in full agreement of the proposal which were considered at a Town Council meeting which took place on 8 November 2016. The improvements to the gate / access to the site will mean that it is more aesthetically pleasing and will also ensure DDA compliance.

3. To include the scheme into the Adults, Health Wellbeing Capital Programme.
